Morocco's football team has reached the fourteenth round of the World Cup 2026 and has equaled the number of wins in play-off matches with other teams from African nations. According to Opta, Morocco defeated Canada 3-0 in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup. In this match, Moroccan player Una scored goals at 50 and 82 minutes, and Rahimi scored the third goal of the match at 90+8 minutes.
This is Morocco's fourth win in the play-off matches, the most historically for an African team. Along with Morocco, other African teams have won the play-offs: Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002), Ghana (2010) and Egypt (2026) have won 4 together.
The Moroccan team will compete against France in the quarter-finals. The 2026 World Cup is being held from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
