Jerry De Yong (61), father of KNVB director Nigel De Yong, dies

Former international player Jerry Dee Yong has passed away at the age of 61. This information has been given by KNVB on Monday. The father of current KNVB director Nigel De Yong played three international matches for Orange in the past. Jerry De Jong was a defender who played for AZ, Telstar, SC Heerenveen, PSV, FC Groningen, FC Eindhoven and MVV Maastricht in the Netherlands. He played over 150 matches in the Eredivisie and participated in the Europa Cup I/Champions League six times for PSV. Meanwhile, Jerry Dee Yong played three games for the Orange. During qualification for the 1992 Eurocup, he played against Greece, Malta and Finland. The Orange played clean sheets in all three matches in presence of Jerry Deyong. He has two championships and a KNVB Becker win to his name. Jerry De Jong was dedicated as the director of Top Football by the Dutch organization. In this role, Nigel Ke Yong traveled to the United States last Sunday to oversee Japan's game against the Orange.
