Wrexham Women's midfielder Lily Jones has said playing in Europe for the first time will be "huge". The Welsh champions face FC Pyunik of Armenia in the UEFA Women's Champions League on July 22. Wrexham's men's team has not been eligible to play in Europe since 1995, although they have participated in eight Cup Winners' Cup competitions. "Going on, it was 31 years for Laddies to play in Europe," Jones told BBC Sport Wales. "It's huge for us to be done like this and we're really looking forward to it. To play for Wrexham and get the chance to represent Wales at this stage is huge." If Wrexham beat the Armenian champions in the semi-finals of the first qualifying round, they will meet Northern Ireland's Glentoran or Latvia's Riga FC in the final. The semi-finals will be held on July 22 and the final will be held on July 25. Wrexham secured their place in Europe by winning the Genero Adran Premier for the first time in previous seasons. "We put in a lot of hard work during the off-season and now we're back in the off-season with full force," Jones explained. "Girls, we're fit. Everyone's fit." Wales international Mari Francis-Jones entered the Adran Premier competition in Wexham in February. Francis-Jones has previously played for Manchester City, Burnley and Sheffield United but will now be playing in Europe for the first time. "We didn't just come for the count, our aim is to win," he said. "We go in with the mindset that 'we're going to win.'"
