AZ Alkmaar are keeping the FC Midtjylland midfielder as an alternative to Thom van Bergen

AZ Alkmaar plans to keep FC Midtjylland midfielder Valdimar Biskov as an alternative to FC Groningen's Thom van Bergen. While Van Bergen is interested in joining AZ Alkmaar, the two clubs have faced difficulties in agreeing a transfer fee. Therefore, AZ Alkmaar is thinking of opting for Biskov. The 21-year-old Danish youth international has played for FC Midtjylland for the past four years, during which he had a short loan spell at Mafra in the 2023/2024 season. Biskov had a true breakout season last year, with four goals and two assists in 34 games in the 2024/2025 season. In 49 games for Midtjylland he scored nine goals and provided five assists. The 21-year-old midfielder has also earned the right to play at Denmark's youth level, from U17 to U21. Nothing has been agreed between AZ Alkmaar and the Danish club, but talks between the two clubs and the player are ongoing.
