Ajax's second pre-lotting for the Conference League

Ajax go into the lottery for the second pre-lotting of the Conference League on Wednesday, after the first pre-lotting took place in the morning. The Amsterdammers will have to win three second round matches to qualify for the main tournament. The draw will take place on June 17 as per UEFA's calendar. The day before the first pre-lotting will take place before the drawing begins, with the drawing starting at 14:00 and can be watched live on UEFA.com. Due to pre-lotting, the list of possible opponents has become quite short. No club can go directly to the competition stage of the Conference League, so the importance of the preliminary rounds of the third European club tournament is very high. Ajax will have a placed position in the lotting and will be paired with a team with an unplaced position. Due to pre-lotting there are now five options left: winner of Vikingur - Stjarnan, GAIS, loser of FK Vojvodina - Ferencváros, Shelbourne FC or KF Dukagjini. Possible opponents: Winner of Víkingur (Fae) - Stjarnan (Ijs), GAIS (Zwe), loser of FK Vojvodina (Ser) - Ferencváros (Hon), Shelbourne FC (Ier), KF Dukagjini (Kos). Ajax will begin their European campaign on July 23. On this day and a week later the second preliminary round will take place. It will also be drawn on 20 July that Ajax could meet in any of the possible third preliminary rounds, which will take place on 6 and 13 August. Later in August also the playoffs (last preliminary round) will be played.
