World Cup 2026: Murat Yakin on Bosnia's game and hopes for more brilliance

Switzerland coach Murat Yakin gave his opinion on the team's performance ahead of their second group match against Bosnia-Herzegovina. After a 1-1 draw with Qatar in the first match, Yakin says the pressure is on the team but they don't see it as a problem because they have experienced players. "Obviously, we thought differently at the start, but the style of the game was positive." Yakin said.

He described Bosnia as a strong team and looked forward to their performance. "We know their strength," he said. Freuler also said that they will face a team with physical strength.

"We expect a strong and long game. Their standard games are very strong," Yakin said of their style of play. So, Yakin wants the Swiss team to be strong and protected.

He also spoke about Yohan Manzambi, "He will join the defense, but it remains to be seen whether he plays from the start or comes from the bench."

In the last two matches, Switzerland started well but fell behind later on. "We have to play a lot of power football, which requires a lot of running," Yakin said.

"If we start well, everything else will take care of itself," Freuler stressed the importance of getting off to a good start in the second match.

They also talked about the atmosphere within the team, to which Freuler said, "I think the atmosphere is good." Granit Xhaka's strict teaching had affected some players, but Freuler said we need to recognize and analyze our mistakes.
