The groups for the World Cup 2026 have come to an end, along with the best-of-three list, which is decisive for the group's lines. From the 48 countries, the top two teams advance to the group stage from each of the twelve groups, along with the eight best third-placed teams. These include DR Congo, Sweden, Ghana, Ecuador, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Algeria, Paraguay and Senegal. In many cases, goal difference dictated that teams that were on four points preferred teams with better goal difference from their competition. This excludes Iran, Corea del Sud, Scotland and Uruguay, as they did not make the best 8 thirds.
