Welcome back: 5️⃣ countries that are returning to the World Cup

There are many familiar faces participating in the 2026 World Cup, and some new faces who are participating for the first time. However, there are several countries going to North America, which have not joined the competition for a long time. Let's take a look at the five countries we're eagerly awaiting to return to.

Scotland After 28 long years, the World Cup is finally welcoming back the Tartan Army, and their presence in the stands and on the field will color Boston, Miami and beyond. Steve Clarke has restored his country's fortunes and booked his ticket to the USA with a 4-2 win over Denmark last November along with successful European Championships.

Austria Like Scotland, Austria haven't been to the World Cup since France '98 and it's good to see one of the ball game's traditional powerhouses back. Head coach Ralf Rangnick has selected a squad that is loaded with many familiar faces.

Haiti The country has not appeared in a World Cup since 1974, the longest absence of any team. Last time, they created memorable memories by going forward against Italy.

Norway After 28 years, Norway's return is on time. This time, its stars like Erling Holland and Martin Odgaard will get a chance to represent their country.

Iraq After 40 years, Iraq has also been reunited with this wonderful view of the world. Their previous matches were full of upsets, but they are making a comeback this time.
