Troubles are looming ahead of the start of the 2026 World Cup in Mexico. Mass demonstrations and meetings have begun in Mexico City. Demonstrators have blocked the approach to the Ateka Stadium, where the opening ceremony and first match are scheduled to take place tomorrow, June 11. According to various foreign sources, these meetings and strikes have been organized by teachers' union cons, who are demanding an increase in their salaries. The tournament will feature 48 teams, which have been divided into 12 groups, with four teams in each group. The playoffs will feature two teams from each group and the eight strongest third-placed teams. The World Championship will be held in three countries: USA, Mexico and Canada.
