Claudio Kammerknecht will now play for SV Waldhof Mannheim. The third league club announced the free signing of the defender on Friday morning, whose contract with Zweitligist Dynamo Dresden was not extended after four years. We conceded too many goals, so it is difficult to be successful for a long time. Kammerknecht, who was born in Breisgau and educated by SC Freiburg, joined Dresden from second division Sport-Club in the summer of 2022 and has since established himself as a fixture at the third league club. In his third year, he moved up to the 2. League with SGD, but he only appeared in 12 matches.

In Mannheim, Kammerknecht will hopefully recapture his Dresder best years. In total, brings experience of 123 matches in his 3. League, previously for SGD and Freiburg II.

This gives Kammerknecht a chance to play regularly again and play a central role in SVW. "I am very happy that I can sign my contract at SV Waldhof today. After four years in Dresden, this job in Mannheim is particularly attractive to me," the 26-year-old said after signing.

1. The league will start on August 7 and therefore three weeks after the World Cup ends in USA, Canada and Mexico. The first round in the DFB-Pokal takes place from 21 to 24 August - and there the derby against Kammerknecht and Waldhof against 1. FC Kaiserslautern is a real highlight.
