£10m Celtic target Kieron Bowie in talks with Serie A sides

The Italian Premier League is now focusing on Scottish players. A veritable bidding war has heated up for Kieron Bowie, with Celtic facing a big decision to make this summer. Sassuolo have joined the race for the 23-year-old forward and have opened formal talks with Hellas Verona. Bologna are also in the running, having recognized Bowie since his debut at Hibernian.
Hellas Verona bought him for £6 million in January 2026, but they have now been relegated to Serie B. Now they want to sell it for £10 million. Due to Hibs having a sell-on clause, the Edinburgh club are expected to benefit greatly from the deal.
Bowie has 4 goals and 1 assist in 14 matches in the Italian league. Despite this, Scotland coach Steve Clarke surprisingly did not include him in the recent World Cup squad. Sassuolo want to put it at the top of their list of deals.
In terms of Celtic, they have a long-standing link with Bowie, but there has been no new contact this summer. There is no need for Celtic to spend money on this £10m player, when their other problems are more pressing. Martin O'Neill needs Champions League-ready players, not spending on prospects.
