Barcelona have agreed a €2.5 million loan-to-buy deal for the South American talent

In an important development, journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that FC Barcelona have agreed to sign youngster Josue Caesdo from Ecuadorian club LDU Quito. The transfer specialist has retained its prominent 'here we go' stamp on the deal. As per the deal, 18-year-old Tarika will have an initial loan deal that includes an option to buy for a fee of €2.5 million. Barcelona have made a habit of monitoring promising young players around the world. The plan is to develop the best talent at the club by signing them for a small fee - either to add to the first team or to profit through future sales. Barcelona have signed several other players, including Mika Fey, in similar deals. Most recently, Hamza Abdelkarim was included in a loan deal in January which he later activated. Patricio Pacifico also arrived from Uruguay in the winter of the year on a similar deal, and the club plan to keep him. Now, Josue Cacedo, who will be the next in the list of talented players to be signed by Barcelona. Only 18 years old, Cacedo has already played with the first team for LDU Quito, for whom he has made 8 appearances. As a winger, he has sometimes been played in deeper positions on the left, such as left midfielder or left back. According to Romano, the plan is for Cacedo to join Barcelona's reserve team, Barça Atlético, where he will play under Giuliano Belletti. However, it will be interesting to see if 18-year-old Caesdo spends some time in the U19 side on arrival like Hamza Abdelkarim has done in the last four-five months.
